Sea Breeze
My newest pattern was borne out of a desire to knit with nothing but silk mohair :) I love the stitch pattern I selected for this open cardigan, it allows the yarn to shine and is both warm and airy at the same time. Because the yarn is knit double-stranded, you can literally create your own custom color, depending on the colors you choose for your yarns: two of the same colorway, one speckle and one solid, or two slightly different colors for a tonal effect.
Pattern: Sea Breeze by Andrea Hungerford
Yarn: Qing Fibre Kid Mohair (70% kid mohair / 30% silk) - 3 skeins in color Hippienista, knit double-stranded
Needles: US 7s
Size: D (38” chest with 3-4” of positive ease)
I played around with a different yarn for my second sample, and lengthened the sleeves and the hemline - I wanted the finished project to look almost like a robe, like being wrapped in a summer cloud. This admittedly took a lot longer - and required more yarn - but I love the result.
Yarn: Purl Soho Tussock - 5 skeins in color Bright Verdigris
Mods: Lengthened sleeves to full-length, lengthened bottom hem to 27” from armhole
