Parkland blanket

Warp and weft: Parkland blanket wool (2 cones of natural and 4 skeins of naturally dyed in oranges and yellows)
* 8 EPI (double-sleyed for doubleweave)
* 396 ends
* 49.5” wide on loom
* 125” warp
* plain weave in doubleweave

Warp sequence:
68 white
38 color A
44 white
38 color B
44 white
38 color C
44 white
38 color D
44 white

Finishing
* Machine wash on delicate / cold for 30 min
* Dry on cool for 10 minutes with towels to absorb moisture, then hang damp
* Brush with stiff bristle brush (I tried this, but it didn’t seem to make much difference)
* Press with hot iron

Finished size: 37” wide x 60” long

Notes: Doubleweaving with wool is extremely difficult, because the strands stick together and as a result, it’s really easy to end up with errors on the bottom layer. I wish I knew of a way to keep the strands from sticking, but that’s just the nature of wool . . . maybe a 4 or 6 EPI, instead of 8?
