kinchaku bags

I used variations of this pattern to make small, medium and large bags, experimenting with using weaving remnants and vintage Japanese fabrics. I settled on making interior pockets only for the medium and large sizes. I used leather instead of fabric for the top closure tabs.

Materials:
* Pellon SF-101 fusible woven interfacing
* 10 oz cotton duck canvas
* Pellon flex-foam fusible stabilizer
* 3mm leather cording

For the smallest bags sewn in vintage Japanese fabrics, I altered the pattern to slightly adjust the proportions:
* external piece is7 ½” tall x 20” wide
* sewn from six pieces of fabric, each 7.5” x 3.75” (2 of each color)
