knitting: the Elizabeth sweater

Pattern: The Elizabeth Sweater, by Andrea Hungerford

Yarn: Knitting for Olive Pure Silk in Raspberry Pink and Silk Mohair in Pink Daisies (4 balls/ea) - held double-stranded

Size: 4 (45.5” finished bust)

Needles: US 6s

Options: 5-gauge, V-neck

Notes: This double-stranded pattern, knit in an open gauge with a blend of silk and mohair yarns, creates a luxurious, drapey, unbelievably soft pullover. THe pattern provides the option of either a 5 sts/in gauge or 4 sts/in gauge, to allow the use of the widest possible selection of yarns, and to allow the knitter to choose the finished fabric. Do you want something dense and structured? Loose and draped? Somewhere in between? By selecting your yarn and then your gauge, you can achieve almost any result.

The pattern also offers three neck options: V-neck, funnel neck, or boat neck (turtleneck could also be achieved by knitting the funnel neck twice as long). The drop shoulders and seam detail add finish and style to this simple sweater.
