Sonoma Overalls
My newest sewing pattern is one of my favorites . . . Iām not exaggerating when I say that I have been wearing these all summer long! One of the things that I love most about making is the opportunity to work with gorgeous fabric or fiber. I can never choose a favorite, there are so many amazing fabrics and yarns! And the Sonoma Overalls are so versatile, I ended up sewing over half a dozen pairs because I kept wanting to see how they looked in different fabrics.
I particularly love them in a light denim chambray (Robert Kaufman Cotton Linen Chambray) and an incredibly soft, lightweight cotton from Merchant & Mills (Terra in colors Cocoa, Nutmeg, and Spice). The fabric is so easy to wear, and it can be worn loose without looking sloppy or unflattering.
The pattern has three different options for pockets (my favorite is the front patch pockets) and I love how the straps tie, because in addition to creating a cute design feature, it lets you customize the fit (I like to cross them in the back and then tie them so that the front bibs sit high on my chest).
The pattern is available in By Hand Serial Issue #13: Northern California, coming soon!
