Mendocino Dress

Pattern: Mendocino Dress, in By Hand Serial Issue #13: Northern California

Fabric: Most of these samples were sewn from Merchant & Mills double gauze - a lovely, lightweight, soft and floaty fabric that is comfortable and easy to wear. I sewed several of the samples in a white double gauze that I then custom-dyed with Rit Dye. It’s so fun to create your own color of fabric!

The final sample was sewn in Hokkah Japanese Sheeting, and lined with Galway Indigo Linen. It’s the perfect example of how much you can change the look of this piece by changing the type and print of the fabric.
