Linen and kudzu indigo weaving

Indigo dyed linen and kudzu fiber, linen and handspun nettle

Warp:  3-ply linen in color Lily

Weft:
* Top half – 5-6 rows of 3-ply linen in Lily + one row of natural/indigo variegated kudzu

* Bottom half – 5-6 rows of 3-ply linen in color Indigo + one row of natural/indigo variegated kudzu

175” warp (4.86 yards) - for a total of two panel lengths with a 3” gap in between

EPI:  15 (1-1-1-2 on 12-reed)

330 ends minus 60 (for two 2” gaps) = 270 ends total
* 2” gaps = 30 ends/ea (24 reed gaps/ea)

Threading: 80 ends / 2” gap (24 reed gaps) / 110 ends / 2” gap (24 reed gaps) / 80 ends

Finished size: 3 pieces, each 21” wide - lengths of 47”, 51”, and 23”
(I ended up with more length than I anticipated, thus the “leftover” third piece @ 23”, not pictured here)

Mounting:
Two 48” long x 1 1/4” wide x 1/4” thick walnut boards
Flat antique brass screws (6 x 1/2” in the center, 6 x 1” on each end)

The kudzu was challenging to weave with, and made the project time-consuming, but I’m very pleased with the end result!
