Draft:  Coastal linen towels (no longer published by Gist Yarn)

Warp: Gist 3/2 Beam in White (2 cones) and Gist Duet (linen/cotton) in Dusk and Rust (1 cone/ea)

Wove first and last inch of each towel with sewing thread (should have matched color better, as the thread shows when you roll the hem). No hemstitching - instead, rolled the hems and sewed with zigzag stitch.

Finished: Two towels 15” x 28” and a third towel 15” x 25” (needed another 6” of warp to make all three the same size).

Notes: Duet is doubled (both through the reed and through the heddle). My tie-up was incorrect - last treadle was tied up 2/4 instead of 1/4, which resulted in a different (but still attractive) texture pattern. The towels are beautiful, but I worry they’re a little soft, and possibly not woven tightly enough; I can see how this pattern would work better with a 100% linen yarn (as the draft originally called for).
