Hikes, farm stands, and waterfalls in the Columbia Gorge

A day trip to the Columbia Gorge with my youngest on a gorgeous fall day: breakfast at Broder Øst in Hood River, an early hike to the top of Rowena Crest (forty degrees out at the start, but worth it since we had it all to ourselves!), stops for apples and apple cider donuts at farm stands all along the Fruit Loop, a drive along the old historic highway for a view of all of the waterfalls, and capping it all off with soft serve ice cream at Sugarpine Drive-In.
